Connecting Zapier

To connect AcademyOcean to Zapier you need to have access keys, which is basically a fancy term for login and password. To do this, login into your Academy as an admin and navigate to Academy Settings > API & Zapier and click “Create Zapier Keys”. The only field you have to fill is “Application name” — you may type in your company name, for example.

At this point necessary credentials are created for your Academy in order to connect it to Zapier. Visit the invitation page to create the connection.

After clicking “Accept Invite & Build a Zap” you are ready to start building your automation with Zapier. Let’s take a look at what actions you can perform with this integration.

Zapier Authorization

When you create your first Zap, the system will require you to authorize Zapier to use your AcademyOcean data. This is where your access keys are needed.

First, Zapier will request the access:

You must fill the required fields with proper credentials. Your client ID and secret can be found in your API & Zapier section under “Zapier Keys”, just click the key you wish to use (if you have more than one):

After you copy and paste your client ID and secret key, authorize the access and you are all set.
